THE SEASON’S TRAIN, Traditional, with new lyrics by Joanie The season’s train is rolling, Coming round the bend, Chugging like a railroad train, ‘cause seasons never end. Chorus: Well get on board everybody, Get on board everybody, Get on board everybody, The seasons’ train rolls on. The winter train goes slow, Hear that wind blow, Cold and gray and icy, Watch that dancing snow! Chorus The springtime train goes faster, The gray has disappeared, Bright colors all a-bloomin’ Let us know that spring is here. Chorus The summer train goes slow, So hot it’s hot to move, Swimming pools and sprinklers, Help to keep us cool! Chorus The fall train is coming, The trees will change their clothes, From green they turn to red and orange, Yellow, brown and gold. Chorus And now we’re back to winter, Hear that wind blow Cold and gray and icy, Watch that dancing snow. Chorus

THE NORTH WIND DOTH BLOW, Traditional, with additional lyrics by Joanie The north wind doth blow, and we shall have snow, And what will the robin do then, sweet thing? He’ll sit in the barn, to keep himself warm, And hide his head under his wing, sweet thing……… The north wind doth blow, and we shall have snow, And what will the dormouse do then, sweet thing? Rolled up like a ball, in a nest snug and small, She’ll sleep ‘til the warm weather comes, sweet thing……… The north wind doth blow, and we shall have snow, And what will the squirrel do then, sweet thing? She’ll climb up a tree, and look out to see, And nibble on all of her food, sweet thing……… The north wind doth blow, and we shall have snow, And what will the raccoon do then, sweet thing? He’ll waddle around, leave footprints on the ground, And find a warm burrow to sleep, sweet thing……… The north wind doth blow, and we shall have snow, And what will the rabbit do then, sweet thing? She’ll jump and she’ll hop, she won’t want to stop, ‘cause that’s how she’ll keep herself warm, sweet thing………

Wintertime 04:14
WINTERTIME, By Joanie © 2000 CHORUS: Wintertime is cold time, slow time, snow time, Wintertime’s the soft time of the year. Rabbits hop through the cold, Digging up their summer’s gold. Hop and jump every day, They aren’t bothered by the gray. Cardinals chatter in the trees, Finding winter’s nuts and seeds All their other bird friends, Flew down south ‘til winter’s end. CHORUS: Wintertime is cold time, slow time, snow time, Wintertime’s the soft time of the year. Squirrels jump from branch to limb, Climbing trees with shimmy-shim Busy all year round, nice warm nests above the ground. Possums, skunks, and raccoons, All are friends of winters’ moons Prowling round in mud or snow, The cold just makes their thick coats grow. CHORUS: Wintertime is cold time, slow time, snow time, Wintertime’s the soft time of the year. Now bears are different stories, When they hear the north wind’s song They crawl into their caves, Sleep away the winter long. CHORUS: Wintertime is cold time, slow time, snow time, Wintertime’s the soft time of the year.

FIVE LITTLE BUNNIES, By Joanie © 2001 Five little bunnies went out to play, They hopped and they jumped around all day. Then they saw some carrots, what fun, One little bunny stayed to nibble in the sun. And the other four went home to sleep. But in the morning, when the sun came up………. Four little bunnies went out to play, They hopped and they jumped around all day. Then they found some lettuce, what fun, One little bunny stayed to nibble in the sun. And the other three went home to sleep. But in the morning, when the sun came up………. Three little bunnies went out to play, They hopped and they jumped around all day. Then they found some beans, what fun, One little bunny stayed to nibble in the sun. And the other two went home to sleep. But in the morning, when the sun came up………. Two little bunnies went out to play, They hopped and they jumped around all day. Then they saw some peas, what fun, One little bunny stayed to nibble in the sun. And the other bunny went home to sleep. But in the morning, when the sun came up……… One little bunny went out to play, She hopped and she jumped around all day. Then she saw some cabbage, what fun, The last little bunny stayed to nibble in the sun. And then she found all her brothers and sisters, And went home to take a nap. Can you think of other things that the bunnies might want to eat? Sing it again, but this time put different food in the song!

GOING TO THE BEACH, By Joanie © 2004 Oh we’re going, oh we’re going to the beach today, It’s finally time to be on our way. I can’t wait to play in the water, Splashing like a silly, old otter. It’s a long, long trip and we’re almost there, The sea breeze is starting to blow through my hair, Once we park the car it’s still a long way to go, And the sand is so hot on my toes. Ouch, ouch, ouch, it’s burning my feet, Slip my sandles on, oh that feels sweet, We’ve got to walk but we’re almost there, How I love, the salty, sea air. Oh we’re standing on the top of a dune hill, Looking down at the waves, how they sparkle and thrill. Now I’m running I can’t wait anymore, We’re finally here, at the sea shore. We’re finally here, at the sea shore!

Raccoons are also busy, Looking for food in our garbage cans at night, They sure love our garbage, But watch them run when we turn on the lights! AUTUMN LEAVES, By Joanie © 2003 Leaves blowing round in the autumn wind, Up and down and out and in, There’s yellow and red and orange and brown, That fall from the trees and blanket the ground. Leaves in the wind, oh how they blow, Up and down, just watch them go, Over the roofs around, around, Dancing and twirling all over the ground. Autumn moon shines oh so bright, Dancing with stars in the autumn night, Mornings are crisp, clear and cold, The sunlight shines silver and yellow and gold, Leaves in the wind, oh how they blow, Up and down, just watch them go, Over the roofs around, around, Dancing and twirling all over the town.
